Our Featured Approaches
GLOFA empowers communities through proven, sustainable methodologies that place farmer families at the center of development.
Farmer Family Learning Groups (FFLG)
Our household-based extension approach brings the entire family — husband, wife and children — into sustainable organic production and marketing, promoting social coherence and increased household income.
Organic Market Access
We connect smallholder farmers to local and international organic markets through collective marketing groups, Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS), and value addition initiatives that reward quality.
Agroforestry & Climate Resilience
GLOFA promotes diverse agroforestry systems that protect farms from climate shocks, improve soil health, preserve biodiversity, and create additional income streams for farming families.
Rights-Based Advocacy
We support farmer advocacy movements and community networks that hold duty bearers accountable, ensuring smallholder farmers' rights are protected, promoted and fulfilled at every level.
Gender & Youth Inclusion
Women and youth empowerment is central to all GLOFA activities. We mainstream gender equality and youth participation across organic production, advocacy, marketing and agroforestry initiatives.
Partnership Development
GLOFA builds transformative partnerships with local governments, international organizations, and civil society based on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to demonstrating measurable impact.
Stories of Impact
Hear directly from the farming families whose lives have been transformed through GLOFA's work in the Rwenzori Region.
Before joining GLOFA's FFLG, my family struggled to make ends meet from our small farm. Today, we grow certified organic produce, market it collectively, and earn three times what we made before. My children now attend school consistently.
GLOFA gave us more than farming knowledge — they gave us confidence to advocate for our rights. Our cooperative is now registered and we negotiate fair prices directly with buyers. The change in our community is remarkable.
The agroforestry systems GLOFA introduced have transformed my farm. Even during the dry spells, my crops survive and my soil keeps improving. I am now a facilitator, helping other families adopt these practices.
Our Partners
GLOFA collaborates with trusted national and international organizations committed to organic agriculture and rural development.
